Besides his current stint with An Evening at La Cage,
Steven Wayne has appeared on MTV
as a contestant on Say What? Karaoke which aired February 6, 2001. His
unique delivery prompted him to say, "It's a good thing I don't perform
with a real microphone often!"
He was more at ease on the variety/talk show, Las Vegas Night Shift,
HBO's Taxicab Confessions and his commercial for DuBarry
Fashions. And, he spent 11 years touring the East Coast performing the club
circuit.
If you ask him nicely, he will show you his full-butt tattoo, which took
the guys at Starborn Tattoo over five hours to complete. Actually, you will probably see it even if you never ask him.
Born a coal miner's son in West Virginia, he realized
early on that he loved to perform. His family often tells the story that as a child
he used to dance around with towels and scarves on his head,
mouthing the words to songs. It was certainly good practice for the work
he does now!
Actually, he works two jobs--both of which he loves
dearly. Besides his performance in La Cage, he is a kindergarten teacher in
Las Vegas and plans to complete his master's degree in early child
development.
Aside from his educational studies, he is studying Barbra Streisand and Shania
Twain, with a view towards adding them to his cast of characters.
